Make a Big Difference to the Lives of Sick Children through Small Change

McDonald’s® Singapore and Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) Singapore to launch week-long initiative to celebrate McHappy Day 2016!

The largest annual fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) Singapore, McHappy Day is back!  McDonald’s® Singapore will be initiating a series of activities to demonstrate how a small change can make a big difference in the lives of young children.

Small Change, Big Difference – LIVE art installation at 313@Somerset (21 October)

In collaboration with creative expressionists The Band of Doodlers, art murals depicting the hopes and dreams of RMHC® Singapore beneficiaries will be installed for one night only at the atrium of 313@Somerset. The artists will be using small change that have been donated to RMHC® Singapore in the artwork, to further illustrate how a small coin donation can make a big difference to a family’s life. From 4:00 – 8:00pm on 21 October, members of the public can witness the transformation of blank canvases into artistic murals that feature the lives of various beneficiaries and the impact of RMHC® Singapore.

The event will be screened LIVE on the McDonald’s Facebook page from 4:30pm. Facebook fans may also share their wishes for RMHC® Singapore beneficiaries, with the chance of seeing it come to life through the murals.

From 23 to 28 October 2016, McDonald’s will be donating S$1 to RMHC® Singapore for every purchase of a Chicken McNuggets® Extra ValueMealTM in all restaurants. This means that McDonald’s customers can show their love while indulging in their favourite Chicken McNuggets® meal, further emphasising how a small change can make a big difference.
“McHappy Day is special day for all of us at McDonald’s,” said Robert Hunghanfoo, Managing Director, McDonald’s Singapore. “Families are at the heart of who we are and what we do at McDonald’s, and we strive to do what we can by raising funds and generating awareness for the RMHC® cause. Through our various initiatives this year, we aim to illustrate the impact of small change, and how even a small gesture can make a great deal of difference to a family’s life.”

Donation surprises

From 23 to 28 October 2016, customers who donate their change (big or small) to the RMHC® Singapore donation boxes at front counters of all McDonald’s restaurant will receive a heartwarming ‘thank you’ card with hand-written notes from an RMHC® Singapore beneficiary.

Now that's food for thought.
